With so many cities to spend New Years, where's the best? The obvious; New York's Times Square. The world will be watching and you don't want to be left out. Over 1 million people travel to the city to watch the infamous ball drop and the clubs & bars are jammed packed with tourists from across the globe. With New York being one of the top entertainment & nightlife capitals of the world, you can't go wrong making this your premier New Year's hot spot (it should be on everyone's bucket list). With all these people, you would think there wouldn't be a bar anywhere in town to get a drink. Guess what? New York has an estimated 18,000 bars. Yes, 18,000. Learn More about New York's social scene.

Another great spot for New Year's is Valparaiso, Chile (''Valpo''). This is a popular vacation spot for Chileans in general but they go the extra mile this night (and 2 days prior) when they shut down the city block so that tens of thousands can crowd the streets and celebrate. With one of the most exuberant firework shows South America (known as the ''Pyrotechnic Festival'') has to offer, this has long been a top New Year's destination spot for the Latino culture and tourists in general.

Valparaíso, Chile - Beach/Harbor

Cartegena is Columbia's top tourist destination and 99% of that is because of the vibrant nightlife it possesses.  Zona Rosa has tons of bars and nightclubs and with all different genres from salsa to electronic music. Some of the best looking people in the world visit Cartegena all year long but I recommend going during their dry season which is from December to April. Pick up some ''flirtatious'' Spanish and hit the gym before going and you will be sure to lock down an amazing couple of days.

Cartegena, Columbia - Calle de Arsenal

''Floripa'' - Known as a surf destination by many, but the nightlife itself is a whole other animal this Brazilian beauty has to offer. Spend the day at the beaches packed with sun and Brazilian bombshells strolling the sand and grab an afternoon nap because the night turns into a mini-Vegas and everything that comes with it (big clubs, hot people, & ''Ladies Free'' style of entry).

Florinopolis, Brazil - Lagoa da Conceição

Buenos Aires' night scene is comparable to the top major cities in the world. Clubs don't even open until around 1 a.m. or after for God sakes! Argentinians are known for their ''life is a party'' attitude and they sure know how to exemplify this in Buenos Aires. Electronic Dance Music (EDM) has hit this ''city of the night'' by storm and assures there is never a dull moment (locally called boliches). One of the best parts is that despite Buenos Aires being such an electrifying and top party destination in the world, the typical ''snobby'' attitude that goes with it doesn't exist here.
